Our Rest Has Come (Christmas 2016)

by Three For Silver

/

about

another Christmas comes around
and that means another Christmas song from Three For Silver
Willo and Lucas whipped up this joyous little ditty during a recent Portland snowstorm when the band's show was cancelled,
and they had nowhere to go...

lyrics

LYRICS:
The frost makes a diamond of the town
Yet it freezes those who sleep upon the ground
The season brings a promise
That afterward feels so dishonest
After we've sung our carols, and hung the evergreen
After we've done our best to sleep through Christmas Eve..

Let us wake Christmas morning
To hear all the bells tolling out
Hallelujah! our rest has come

All of us cast a shadow before the sun
But the light falls on each and every one
Like dry leaves in a bitter wind
We're blown forward and back again

Chorus

The low shall be known as the high
As every gutter and grate sings with wine
Our tree's got devils sipping at the roots
But on top there's angels come to roost

Chorus
