about

At the Charles' local Iron Man™ Gym, Charles takes the Jazzercise™ class every weekday at 1pm. The instructor leads the class in a tricky step, a fast 5/8 over 4/4 that they are apparently expected to maintain for the duration of the song. The instructor's name is Davian Blum and he is a total nepotist. Hardly an accordion break can pass without him announcing that everyone should "take a queue from Linda up here" and how Linda is "fit as a black hole". Linda's moves are mediocre at best but it is well known that she gives Davian a 30% discount at the SuperCutz!™ where she styles and she is definitely the responsible party behind Davian's rock solid pompadour. The song abruptly switches to a stately 3/4 and Davian leads them in a slow kneel-and-rise movement that turns out to be a real gluteal monster after the first minute. Then it's back to the 5/8 step for another two minutes. Charles is totally feeling the burn at this point.
She tried to privately approach Davian for some personal fitness advice exactly one time. When he said, "You really need to do some hump-ups to develop strength in your buttsack." she quickly walked away. Charles still has no clue what he meant by that.
